As I was doing my nightly check of Facebook last night, I came across a really cool photo that my friend, Chris Montgomery, took and I just had to share with you. This is a newly discovered comet, NEOWISE. Technically, its full name is 'Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE', and comes from the Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer observatory that discovered it back in March.

Okay, this might sound a little goofy, but I wasn't really sure what a comet actually was until I started doing some research about this photo. Is it the same thing as a meteor or falling / shooting star? If you see it do you get a wish (Like a falling star)?

I took my questions to Meteorologist Ron Rhodes with ABC 25 Eyewitness News. I also consulted NASA.
