For many years, the Marching Knights from Castle High School have been one of the premier marching bands in Indiana, and now they have proven that they can compete with any high school marching band in the country.

The Good News

In November of 2022, the Marching Knights performed at the Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. They came in 2nd place in Class AAA, and 12th place overall in the nation. This was followed by even more good news - the Marching Knights were invited to perform in the 2024 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

The Not-So-Good News

Having the opportunity to perform to a national audience like this is a HUGE win for Castle High School and the members of the Marching Knights - the trip to California is also a HUGE expense. For one band member with special needs, the price tag is extra high, making it nearly impossible for her family to afford the trip. That's where you come in.

Help Abby Get To The 2024 Rose Bowl Parade

Abby is a junior at Castle High School and is a percussionist for the Marching Knights. Abby was born with a rare genetic disease that makes performing everyday tasks very difficult. Abby relies on both of her parents to help her through the day, and because of her unique situation, Abby needs her parents to make the trip to California with her.

As you can imagine, Abby is overjoyed at the thought of performing in the Rose Bowl Parade, and no one wants to see her excluded because of money - that's why a GoFundMe has been created for Abby and her family. The goal is to raise $8,000 to help lighten the financial burden of the trip. Her family says this amount will not cover the entire trip expense, but it will help make the trip a reality for Abby.

For Abby, this trip means the world. For Abby, this trip may very well be the highlight of her lifetime. We humbly ask you for help. Please support Abby with a donation and help make her dream come true. Thank you, and God Bless!

Newburgh Baby’s Array of Facial Expressions Will Crack You Up!

Whenever I see little Miss Alanah Meier's photos come up in my Facebook newsfeed, I can't help but smile. Her array of facial expressions is quite extensive, to say the least. Her mom Kim told me that post colic phase, she's the happiest baby ever.

I think my favorite part of her expressions are her eyes and eyebrows. She looks at you like, "Seriously, what are you doing?" Work it, girl! At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up meme or a baby model sometime soon.
