A family-friendly event with a purpose
National Night Out is a family-friendly event that welcomes people of all ages. Whether you’re bringing your kids, coming with friends, or showing up solo to meet new faces, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a safe space to ask questions, learn more about local resources, and enjoy the presence of others who care about the community.

Meet the people who keep us safe
Local police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders will be on hand to chat, answer questions, and showcase some of the tools and vehicles they use every day. It’s a chance to see the human side of public service, helping to build trust and transparency between law enforcement and the people they protect.

Strengthening community spirit

The History of National Night Out
The first National Night Out event took place in Philadelphia in 1984. The purpose was (and still is) to give residents in communities across the country an opportunity to meet with first responders who help keep them safe day in and day out all year long. Now, 40 years later, National Night Out has expanded to cities and towns in all 50 states, as well as "U.S. territories and military bases worldwide," according to the official National Night Out website.
