For bartenders and restaurant hosts, COVID-19 is slowly but surely putting them out of work.

As restaurants and clubs close around the country one by one, state by state, many people are left jobless. As you can imagine, this is financially scary for many people - especially those who pay their bills with tips. During this indefinite pandemic, Miller Lite has stepped in to help bartenders who have found themselves in a pinch.

On March 20, Miller Lite announced they are donating $1 million to help bartenders and hospitality workers during the spread of COVID-19. According to Fox 6 News, the donation was made to the United States Bartenders Guild National Charity Foundation’s Bartender Emergency Assistance program. The organization set up a “Virtual Tip Jar” to help bartenders not working.

Jameson Irish Whiskey is also committing to give a 1:1 dollar match for every donation made to the USBG Foundation’s COVID-19 relief campaign from March 16-31 up to a maximum of $100,000.
