Local Teachers and School Faculty Receive Trauma Training
Around 30 local educators and school staff, including one of EVSC's School Resource Officers, underwent extensive trauma training, Saturday afternoon. The hands-on class was lead by John Grounds. He is a Police Officer, FBI trained Active Shooter Instructor, Medic, and is a Certified TCCC Instructor.
Every school in the U.S. has fire extinguishers and practices routine fire drills throughout the school year. Not one student has died in a school fire for several decades. Most of the students who die as the result of an active shooter incident lose their life due to blood loss. Yet very few schools actually have quality trauma kits with modern tourniquets and pressure dressings on site. We want to fill that need by providing quality medical supplies and simple yet effective training to school staff who wish to receive it.
Everyone that went through the training received an Educator's Trauma Aid Kit, free of charge.
Emergency Trauma Dressing, Pair Hyfin Vent Chest Seals, Pair of Nitrile Gloves.
