I absolutely love Kohl's. If I had the money, I would buy something from every part of the store. Then I would use my Kohl's Cash and buy even more goodies! It seems like there are less people spending real money at Kohl's and now some locations are set to close.

Why is Kohl's Closing 27 Locations in 2025?

The retail landscape is shifting again as Kohl’s announces plans to close 27 underperforming locations nationwide by April 2025. For Kohl’s shoppers in Southern Indiana, the big question is whether local stores will be affected.

According to the company’s official statement, the closures will target stores in underperforming locations, allowing Kohl’s to focus on thriving markets and innovate its in-store and digital experiences. This move follows an industry trend where retailers adjust to evolving shopping behaviors and economic factors.

Will Southern Indiana Stores Be Affected?

Kohl’s has released the full list of stores slated for closure by April of 2025, and so far our two Evansville stores are not on the chopping block. It looks like Kentucky is also in the clear. However, there are two Illinois stores slated to close this year.

The company assures customers that they’ll continue to prioritize communities by enhancing the experience in their remaining stores and online.

Kohl’s Commitment to Shoppers

While the closures may cause some concern, Kohl’s remains committed to offering its popular Kohl’s Cash rewards, seasonal deals, and exclusive brands like Sonoma Goods for Life. Additionally, Kohl’s partnerships with Sephora and Amazon returns make it a go-to destination for convenience and value.
