Actor John Schneider Calls This Southern Indiana Restaurant ‘AMAZING’!
The Gerst Haus on West Franklin Street had a very special guest last week who almost went unnoticed.
Nothing creates a buzz in a small town like spotting a celebrity. The big question is always why the celebrity is here, and how can we meet them without being a weirdo?
Social Media Shout-Out
Actor and singer John Schneider has been making the rounds in Southern Indiana since the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse. 'Bo Duke' uses his official Facebook page to share the projects he's working on and all of the places he's visited. Last week, he gave a shout-out to the Gerst Haus in Evansville. Surely he would wait until he left town to share his location on social media? I just had to see for myself.
We even have the receipt - Literally.
As it turns out, we had just missed John Schneider! So, of course, I had to take a photo of the menu, his used bowl, and his receipt. No one at Gerst Haus even realized they had a celebrity in their establishment, or that he gave them a shout-out on Facebook.

Mission Accomplished
The folks at Gerst just happened to know where John was headed next. So, my buddy Matt Grisham (Evansville Raptor Con) and I crossed our fingers and went in search of Mr. Kent, I mean, Schneider.
Pro-Tip: If you want to run into a celebrity (Or anyone you know) simply don't fix your hair, let those roots really show in a ponytail, don't wear any makeup, and wear something that you might also sleep in.
