Located in Western Kentucky is a wonderful organization that offers equine-assisted services to those with disabilities and they are hosting a special day dedicated to military veterans and first responders.

Healing Reins

Who is Healing Reins of Kentucky? They are a local, non-profit based in Henderson, Kentucky that offers equine-assisted programs for those with disabilities. They offer adaptive riding and adaptive horsemanship programs where participants are led by a certified therapeutic horseback riding instructor.

Miniature Horses Too

In addition to equine riding and horsemanship, Healing Reins of Kentucky also hosts a literacy program to encourage reading. They also offer a mobile experience where they bring their miniature horses for an interactive, on-site experience.

Veterans and First Responders

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders, and their families are invited to attend Horses for Heroes Family Day at the Farm - a day of family activities including hay rides, food, horses, and resources. The event will take place from 12 pm - 5 pm, and is exclusively for veterans, first responders, and their families. The event will take place rain or shine.
