The recent rains have left much of Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky underwater. One local emergency agency has shared aerial photos of the floodwaters around Evansville.

Tornadoes and Flooding Have Ravaged The Region

Recent severe weather has ravaged much of the region. We are now learning of a number of confirmed tornadoes, and now the Ohio River is out of its banks, homes are flooded, and families have been displaced in some areas.

Ohio River Forecasted to Crest at Highest Level Since 1945

At the time of writing, the Ohio River is resting at 45.5 feet at Evansville. It is forecasted to crest on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 48 feet, making it the sixth highest flood in the city's history, and the highest is has been since March 11, 1945, according to Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart.

Precations Have Been Taken Against Floodwaters

The rising waters have wreaked havoc across the area including here in Evansville and Vanderburgh County. Officials have made sand and sandbags available to the community over the last week, and just today the flood walls were erected in downtown Evansville.

Survey Images Have Been Shared of Flooding Around Evansville

The Evansville Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency sent up a drone to collect a survey of the flooding. We have those photos for you below, including details on where the photos were taken and the direction of the field of view in each.

Ohio River level at Evansville was 45.5 feet, it is forecast to crest Saturday at 48 feet. Today we flew several areas to document the current water levels. And weather permitting we will go back Saturday and repeat the same areas. Here are a few pictures from Evansville and Vanderburgh County from today's survey.
