New data has revealed the best counties in Indiana for folks to retire. You might be surprised by what made the list.

Retirement is something that not just people who are close to retirement age think about, but something we all think about in the workforce. How soon can we retire? What are we going to do once we do retire? Most importantly, where do we want to live after we retire? Now, obviously, most of us think of moving somewhere tropical, away from this Midwest weather. However, for many people, the idea of moving away from kids, grandkids, family, and friends is out of the question. So, staying here in Indiana is the most logical option.

The Best Counties to Retire in Indiana

Recently, I saw a study from the website Stacker, where they found the best counties in Indiana to retire. Stacker says:

When seniors aged 65 or older decide where they want to live out their golden years, they consider particular factors, such as the cost of living, government services, health care facilities, weather and overall climate, crime rate, outdoor recreational activities, eating establishments, cultural and entertainment opportunities, and more.

So they used criteria like that to discover the best counties to retire in Indiana using 2025 rankings from Niche. Settling down after years of working calls for the perfect location for you and your family. That's why I found it pretty interesting which counties made this list. You might be surprised by what the data revealed.

How, out of all 92 counties in the state, was Warrick County named the best? As a Warrick County resident, I would assume that the beautiful golf courses in retirees' backyards played a role in that. Not to mention the growing communities like Newburgh and Boonville. This is something that all Warrick County residents should be proud of...even if they are far from retirement. We live in a great community, and it clearly shows!
