Slate Auto Brings New Life to Former Printing Plant in Warsaw, Indiana
Slate Auto is making big moves in Indiana. The electric vehicle startup announced it will establish its first-ever manufacturing plant inside the former R.R. Donnelley printing facility in Warsaw. This massive 1.4 million-square-foot building, which closed in 2023, will soon transform into the home base for Slate’s first electric pickup truck.
A Fresh Chapter for a Historic Indiana Space
For decades, the R.R. Donnelley facility was a cornerstone of industry in Warsaw. Now, it’s getting a second life as the future hub of electric truck production. Slate Auto plans to roll out its first customizable, simplified electric pickups from the plant by late 2026. By reusing the existing space and infrastructure, Slate is speeding up its timeline while keeping costs lower for buyers.
