'Hot Blooded', 'This Girl is on Fire' and 'We Didn't Start the Fire', are just a few of the songs stuck in my head this morning. I had a DIY hair coloring mishap, and let's just say my face feels 'Like 7 inches from the midday sun'.

The last time that I had my hair done by my stylist was before COVID, so it was probably around February. I had been doing so good with keeping regular appointments, so I wouldn't be tempted to go rogue. You see, I have a little bit of an addiction to coloring my hair. There, I admitted it. The the corona hit, and I can't bring myself to sit in a mask for 2-3 hours. It's okay, though, I can do it myself...Sort of.

I do love experimenting with different colors and attempting highlights and low lights. The finished product is usually better than I expected, with a few exceptions. I usually pick up a couple of different boxes of color, and see what happens. Crazy, right? Possibly even crazier, is the fact that I can (And have) colored it every 2 weeks.

This time, my little experiment went off the rails. Sometimes hair color burns, and I have sensitive skin, so I should know better than to let it get on my face. I should also know that if something is burning my face and ear, I should probably wash it off. I got a little carried away with multitasking while my hair was processing, and just let it burn. This was a very poor decision. I have a bit of a chemical burn, and it is making me feel like, well, fire.

It is possible to color your hair at home, just be aware of the risks. Also, if you have any burn remedies, please send them my way!

Here is an up-close look at the burn. Ignore my neck, that's just sun. Yes, I'm literally a 'Hot mes'.
