Did you buy a pair of Hey Dude shoes online and wonder if you were ever going to get them? You're not alone. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has just announced that it's sending out nearly $1.9 million in refunds to customers who were burned by the online shoe seller.

Hey Dude, What Happened?

Hey Dude got in hot water with the FTC for some shady business practices. They were accused of:

  • Delaying orders and not giving customers a heads-up
  • Refusing refunds for orders that were way late or never showed up
  • Using gift cards instead of cash refunds
  • Hiding negative reviews to make their shoes look better than they really were

This is probably why everyone thought that they were the best shoes ever. How rude, dude!

Who Gets a Refund?

If you ordered Hey Dude shoes online and dealt with cancellations, shipping delays, or gift cards instead of cash refunds, you might be eligible for a PayPal payment. The FTC is sending out payments to over 36,000 customers across the country, including right here in Indiana.

What Should You Do?

Keep an eye on your email for a PayPal payment from the FTC. If you get one, make sure to cash it within 30 days. If you have questions, you can call JND Legal Administration at 877-495-1096 or check out the Federal Trade Commission website for more info.

Remember: The Federal Trade Commission will never ask you to pay money or give out personal information to get a refund.
