Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry just made an exciting announcement that could change the lives of some amazing local teens - applications are now open for the mayor’s 2025-2026 Youth Advisory Council!

Who Can Apply for the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council?

If you know a student heading into grades 8 through 12 this fall who’s passionate about their community and ready to speak up, this is the perfect opportunity. The council gives young people a chance to make their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them - and to help shape the future of Evansville.

“As Mayor, I believe our city is strongest when every voice is heard, including those of our youth,” said Mayor Terry. “The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council gives young people a seat at the table and empowers them to help shape the future of Evansville.”

What to Expect as a Youth Advisory Council Member

Council members will team up on youth-focused solutions, take part in service-learning projects, and meet with local leaders. It’s a 10-month term that aligns with the school year, with monthly meetings (and sometimes a few extras when the group is working on something big!).
