Get ready, Evansville - history is about to come roaring to life in the skies! The Evansville Wartime Museum is rolling out something truly special for aviation lovers, history buffs, and families looking for an unforgettable weekend.
A Legendary Warbird Comes to Evansville
On Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025, the museum will welcome the legendary B-25J Mitchell bomber, Champaign Gal, in partnership with the Champaign Aviation Museum. If the name sounds familiar, it should – the B-25 was the same type of aircraft used in the daring Doolittle Raid during World War II. And now, you’ll get the chance to see this historic warbird up close right here in Evansville.
Take a Ride on the B-25 Mitchell
Whether you want to climb aboard for a ground tour or take things to the next level with a once-in-a-lifetime flight experience, Warbird Weekend has you covered. Flights are scheduled throughout both days, with times set for late morning and afternoon, and extra flights will be added if demand soars.
- When: Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 27-28, gates open at 10 a.m.
- Where: Evansville Wartime Museum, 7503 Petersburg Road
- Flights: Starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. Sunday, with multiple options each day
