This Friday, August 21st, marks the return of 'Friday Night Lights' for high school football teams all around the Tri-State, but that's not the only thing to do on a beautiful Friday evening. If you're not a fan of football, or you're not one of the 500 people able to get tickets to a game, you also have the option of taking your family to see a movie.

The Salvation Army of Evansville, which serves Vanderburgh and Warrick County with food based, financial based, and Counseling based services, is hosting a FREE family movie night at their location on Evansville's west side (1040 N. Fulton Ave.). According to a post on their Facebook page...

With COVID-19 still affecting some summer plans, we love opening our doors to our community in this way- providing a safe, fun evening for all ages. We look forward to a great evening!

Kiddos are welcome to come have a little pre-movie fun at 7pm, followed by the movie, Soul Surfer, at 7:30pm. The Salvation Army will provide drinks and popcorn, but you'll need to bring your own seats.

Here's the trailer for Soul Surfer, in case you need a reminder, or if you've never even heard of it. It's based on a true story you know!

The Salvation Army offers programs such as food pantry, soup kitchen, emergency assistance, or Pathway of Hope. You can learn more on their website, or by calling 812-425-1375.
