Evansville Police Department Announces New Summer Reading Program For Students
I'm not much of a reader unless you count reading as I'm writing, or scrolling Facebook. But if I could have someone read to me, I might be inspired to pick up a book more often (Or ever).
Evansville Police Department Announces New Summer Reading Series
The amazing folks at the EPD are teaming up with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, and Barnes & Noble for an epic adventure in storytelling. This is seriously the kind of community collab we can all get behind.

This first-ever Summer Reading Series will be led by Special Projects Coordinator Taylor Merriss. I know it's for kids, but she probably won't mind if I sneak in. Most little ones are as tall as me anyway!
Officer Merriss says she “understands the benefits that reading can bring to children; most importantly cognitive, emotional and language development which all aid in achieving academic success.”
Location, Times, Ages
Taylor is excited to share her passion for reading with those attending the EVSC Summer Schools and anyone, within the age recommendations, who wishes to attend the reading series at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Libraries and Barnes & Noble.
The first session kicks off on Thursday, May 30th at Barnes & Noble – 5:00 pm for the little ones (ages 3-6) and 6:00 pm for the bigger bookworms (ages 7-10).
