Summer Dates for Block-by-Block Cleanup in Evansville
The City of Evansville is bringing back a program that makes a real difference in neighborhoods across the city. Officials have announced the 2026 schedule for the Summer Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanup events, and the effort continues to grow after a successful first full year.
Evansville’s Cleanup Initiative Continues to Grow
The Block-by-Block initiative is all about taking city services directly into local neighborhoods to help keep communities clean, safe, and welcoming. It’s also designed to strengthen the connection between residents and the many resources available through the city.
Summer Cleanup Dates Announced
This summer’s cleanup events will happen from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following dates:
- Friday, May 29 – Jacobsville Neighborhood
- Friday, June 16 – Tepe Park Neighborhood
Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry says strong neighborhoods are an important part of a thriving city, and the Block-by-Block program is helping invest in areas that have often been overlooked in the past.
What Happens During Block-by-Block Events
During each event, city departments, nonprofit groups, volunteers, and community partners will work together on a variety of neighborhood improvement projects. That includes things like litter pickup, lawn and weed maintenance, minor street repairs, tree work, and code enforcement follow-up. City officials will also go door-to-door to meet residents and share information about available city services and programs.
The initiative is part of Mayor Terry’s larger Neighborhood Revitalization plan, which focuses on restoring pride in Evansville neighborhoods and making sure residents have safe and vibrant places to live.
Volunteers Can Help Make a Difference
Since the program launched in 2024, the city says crews and volunteers have collected more than 20,000 tons of trash across seven neighborhoods. Officials have also reported noticeable improvements when it comes to trash buildup and weed violations in those areas.

Residents who want to get involved and volunteer during one of the cleanup events can sign up through the city’s website at EvansvilleGov.org/block.
