Evansville Baseball Coach Seeks Gear for New Middle School Players
For as long as I can remember, baseball has always been a big part of my life - as a player growing up, as a coach when my son was younger, and as a supportive dad during my son's final years as a player. This is actually the first time in about 15 years that I don't have a direct connection to the game.
The Perfect Use For Your Extra Equipment
What I do have, though, is a bunch of equipment that has accumulated over the years. I wasn't sure what to do with it - I certainly don't plan on throwing it away - until I saw a message from a middle school baseball coach here in Evansville. His name is Tony Maslan, and he coaches the Harrison High School cub team. He has a simple but super important request.
Take a look...
I couldn't agree more with Coach Maslan. It is so important to grow the game I love, and the only way to do that is by getting new players involved.

Why Equipment Matters For Young Players
Imagine being a middle schooler who is interested and excited to try baseball, only to be turned away or, at the very least, discouraged because you don't have any equipment. We (I) can't let that happen. I know I have some gear in my garage that would be perfect for a young ball player.

If you're in a similar situation, with an abundance of equipment or even a few bucks to spare, you should hollar at Coach Maslan and see what his team still needs. His video has been seen thousands of times, so if he ends up not needing your help, I bet there are other coaches and other teams that do!
