Boil Advisory Issued for West Side of Evansville
After a water main break on Wednesday night, a large portion of the west side, including my house, is now under a boil advisory.
The break occurred around 8pm Wednesday night on Upper Mount Vernon, causing a loss of water pressure for a big portion of the west side, even stretching near the Posey County line. The water was restored over night, but is still not safe to drink yet.
As a resident of the west side, let me say how grateful I am to the folks from the water department for working so hard last night to get our water back. I appreciate them staying out in the bitter cold so that I could wake up and take a hot shower this morning. Those guys and gals are awesome!
You're water is unlikely that your water is contaminated, but city official want to err on the side of caution. So, for the time being, continue to boil your water if you live west of Saint Joseph Avenue and south of Mill Road. This advisory also includes the USI campus.
