For the seventh year in a row, the flavors of New Orleans will take over Franklin Street during the annual Gumbo Cook-Off hosted by the Franklin Street Events Association (FSEA). Not only is it your chance to sample over a dozen different kinds of gumbo, it's also a chance to raise money for over a dozen local non-profit organizations.

Ya' see, each restaurant serving up gumbo along Franklin Street will be paired up with a non-profit. So you can eat some yummy grub and learn more about a great organization in town. At the end of the day the proceeds are divided up and everyone comes out a winner!

We invited Amy Word to join us on the MY Morning Show. Amy is one of the brain children for this event. She's also a part of the FSEA and she's the owner of Lamasco Bar & Grill and Amy's on Franklin. Listen to our conversation below to get all of the scrumdiddlyumptious Gumbo Cook-Off details.
