5 Things You Have to See When You Visit Santa Claus, Indiana [Videos]
Looking for something to do this weekend? Take a day trip up the road to Santa Claus, IN. There are some really neat things to check out...and I'm not referring to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari.
The amusement and water park are most definitely an excellent way to spend your day, but if you don't have tickets and you don't have hours and hours to spend, there are some other options in the village of Santa Claus.
I recently spent a few hours in Santa Claus and, with the help of Melissa from Spencer County Tourism, got to visit some great spots. I'm definitely going to visit again, this time with my family. Take a few minutes to watch the videos below. By the way, all of these attractions are FREE!
Santa Claus Museum and Village
This area is located about a half mile away from Santa's Candy Castle...they are both just down the road from Holiday World. Here you'll find several features
- A huge, 82-year-old concrete statue of Santa Claus (perfect for selfies)
- The completely original Santa Claus church built in 1880. Yes, you can go in and go back in time with this beautiful, historic building.
- The town's very first post office (where you can still write a letter to Santa)
- The Santa Claus museum features documents, photos and artifacts that tell the history of Santa Claus, Indiana. You can also see actual letters written to Santa from the 1930's through today (those were my favorite things to see).
Santa's Candy Castle
I already shared my thoughts about this amazing place for kids of all ages. See my previous blog and check out my video tour below.
