I know that I'm guilty of not consistently checking my 10 year old's tablets. He's usually just watching Youtube videos, but it's so important to monitor any online interaction. He's recently started playing Fortnite, and I should really know more about that, but I don't. Your kids might be using the following apps, that could cause some trouble.

1. Calculator%

My husband told me about this one, after he attended a training class for School Resource Officers. It looks just like a calculator, but it actually hides photos, that you don't want anyone to know about.

2. Omegle

This is a free online chat website that promotes chatting with strangers, anonymously. It's not an app, but if you search it in an app store, other chat type apps will show up.

3. Yubo

This app is also known as Yellow, and allows the user to make new friends all over the world. You can create live video chat rooms with up to 4 friends at a time.

4. Hot or Not

This app is also known as The Game. It's like a dating app, that allows you to find people you've bumped into before, check out people in your area, and chat with strangers.

5.Wishbone - Compare Anything

Ok, this app could be useful and fun, as long as it's used the right way. You are given different pop culture - based questions, and you pick a side, then see how your friends voted. The app also pulls your best "Wishbones" and the community feed can vote. This can lead to bulling, and the pressure to be the most popular.

There will always be new apps that could get our kids into trouble. We need to be very nosy, when it comes to any social activity.
