On the eve of Bosse Field's 100th anniversary, the Tri-State Hot Stove League, along with the Friends of Bosse Field honored Evansville native and former quarterback for Purdue and the Miami Dolphins, Bob Griese, with a monument in his honor.

Flanked by another notable Evansville native, former University of Evansville and St. Louis Cardinal pitcher, Andy Benes, as well as current Purdue football coach, Darrell Hazell and lifelong friend and former teammate Nat Moore, Griese, clearly overwhelmed by the honor, made a short speech about his days playing baseball as a teenager at Bosse Field after being introduced by Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.

The celebration of Bosse Field's 100th anniversary continues Wednesday with appearances by World Series winning managers, Jack McKeon and Jim Leyland among others before the Evansville Otters take the field to start a three game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts at 6:35 p.m.
