Influenza is a widespread problem across the country. In a report issued the week ending January 28, 2017 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 11 states have had only regional, local, or no activity of the flu. Of those states, Indiana has reported local activity within the state while other states are widespread with the flu.

Flu season usually takes off strong in January in the U.S and continues to peak through  February. "It's still not too late to get a flu vaccine, the CDC says. The flu vaccines on the market deliver a cocktail to protect against three or four strains of flu."
