Newburgh Old Lock and Dam Remains Off Limits for Sledding

The Newburgh Town Council has voted to keep the ban on sledding at the Old Lock and Dam Park. Not everyone was in favor of keeping the ban.

Town Council President, Leanna Hughes said, "I am opposed to stopping sledding totally at Lock and Dam Park. I think there's got to be a way that we can allow the usage to continue without us actually saying, 'this is what we sanction.' All along, I've been in favor of planting some soft bushes at the end just to keep the sledders off the road."

Some residents are not all for the ban, either.
