Ray Kaunisto was a member of the Evansville IceMen for less than 24 hours before the team shipped him off to Florida in exchange for future considerations.

The team received Kaunisto and future considerations in a trade with Kalamazoo on Wednesday in exchange for the ECHL rights to Patrick Kennedy who is currently playing with the Utica Comets of the AHL after spending a good portion of this season with the IceMen.

As part of his effort to build for the future, Coach Al Sims struck a deal with the Florida Everblades minutes before Thursday's 2 p.m. Central trade deadline. This marks the third deal for futures Coach Sims has made in a week as he begins to look ahead to next season. The team currently has future considerations for players from the Everblades, the Greenville Road Warriors, the Kalamazoo Wings, and the Rapid City Rush.

Only five home games remain on the IceMen schedule including a matchup against the visiting Orlando Solarbears this Sunday and Monday. Tickets for all remaining home games are available at the Ford Center box office, and online through Ticketmaster.

Coverage of all remaining games can be heard on ESPN Evansville 105.3, online at ESPNevansville.com, as well as our free Radiopup App.
