Erin is from Hartford, Kentucky. She began her radio career at Western Kentucky University in 1998, and she came to WBKR in 2007 (ironically, she interned in the same building on Frederica Street in the summer of 1999.) She loves to analyze and write about pop culture, sports, nostalgia, and her beloved Ohio County. Erin also likes to, when warranted, add a touch of humor.

‘One Bowl Cereal Challenge’ in Ohio is Right Up My Alley
Remember Man vs. Food, host Adam Richman would travel all over the country looking to take on food eating challenges that offered prizes and glory to anyone who completed them. It goes way beyond "can you finish this pizza in an hour?" But I'm not sure I ever saw Adam or current host Casey Webb take on a cereal eating challenge.
The First of Eight Whataburger Locations in Nashville Area Opens Wednesday
The first time I heard of or saw a Whataburger was in the 1994 movie 8 Seconds. Luke Perry played bull rider Lane Frost and in the scene, Lane takes his girlfriend Kellie to the restaurant on a date. I can't remember the conversation but he asks "are you going to finish your 'Whatachickn'?" My interest was piqued in overdrive.
A Black Friday Story Complete with Food Choppers
A year after a much more settled-down version of Black Friday, shoppers were ready to rise and shine to go get the best deals of the year. Times have changed for Black Friday; the specials are popping up online well before the big day, other days such as “Small Business Saturday” and “Cyber Monday” have come along to keep the spirit going. I’ve only gone Black Friday once and it was one for the books.
Elizabethtown Becomes First Kentucky City to Ban Dog, Cat Sales
This is fantastic news for residents in Elizabethtown. In an effort to encourage pet adoption, the city has passed a new ordinance that will hopefully cut down on backyard breeders and kitten and puppy mills.
Owensboro’s Jon Brennan Heading Back to ‘The Real World’
Let me begin by saying, this is one post I was born to write, not kidding. In all the years I've worked here at WBKR/WOMI, I've only met Jon Brennan once and it was in passing. I didn't have the chance to grill him on his time in Los Angeles on MTV's The Real World all the way back in 1993.
Big Dipper is New Owensboro Landmark Ornament
Seeing that it's almost October, no really, it's about time to start thinking about all the upcoming holidays. Yes, this includes Christmas and all the decorating that goes along with it. If you are a Daviess County native and/or resident, check out the newest ornament.
New Extreme Treehouse Cliff Dweller Now Open at Red River Gorge
The Cliff Dweller is literally bolted to a sandstone cliff. It has two structures, one that houses a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The master bedroom is up a spiral staircase to the second structure that has a massive window to take it all in.
Coke Zero is Changing its Formula and I’m Nervous
How does the famous saying go? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Well, I read this week Coke Zero is getting a "makeover" and although I'm totally going to try it, I start to panic and my mind goes all the way back to the year 1985.
Dinosaurs Are Coming to Louisville Zoo Starting This Weekend
I don't know the exact point when everyone went crazy for dinosaurs, but for my generation, it happened with Jurassic Park in 1993. The bells and whistles and technology at the time to bring the prehistoric creatures to life were revolutionary. That technology in part is now on display with Dino Quest which will begin this Saturday at the Louisville Zoo.
