Watch Inept, Butterfingered Yankees Fan Make 3 Errors in One Game

If the New York Yankees are planning a deep October run, they'll need to play better defense than what this fan provides.

During Tuesday night's game against the Boston Red Sox, this Yankees fan failed to catch a foul ball that slipped right through his fingers and then muffed his chance to snag a grounder that came his way, too. Then, the ball boy, perhaps feeling a tinge of sympathy, gently tossed a ball to him that bounced off him. The third time proved to be a charm, though, because he managed to get and keep that one.

Considering getting one ball at a Major League Baseball game is about as likely as Jonathan Papelbon giving a lecture on being as good teammate, we say this fan is extremely lucky.

Maybe next time he goes to a game he ought to consider bringing a glove.
