Okay, whatever you hear, broadway actor Jay Aubrey Jones, a New Jersey native, who is 64 years old is the guy behind the Yanny vs Laurel recording and has revealed what he actually said.
Jay is trained in pronunciation and recorded the word for Vocabulary.com back in 2007. The word he recorded was "Laurel."
According to The Sun,
Speaking to Time, Jay said: “I recorded my batch of words and I thought that was that.”
He said he is “amused to no end” that his voice has been the source of such worldwide debate.
Jay added: “I thought, well, it couldn't be that huge. Then I heard the recording again online and I realised what a brouhaha this whole thing was.”
