Wolf's Bar-B-Q has been serving Evansville for a very long time. 2023 is actually the restaurant's 96th year in business. Residents in the area have noticed a pretty big change in the sign by the street. It longer says Wolf's Bar-B-Q!

Does Wolf's Bar-B-Q Have a New Owner?

The Wolf's Bar-B-Q property located at 6600 North 1st Ave in Evansville, Indiana has been listed for sale since January, and it is still an active listing with F.C. Tucker Commercial Real Estate.

The Wolf’s Barbecue property is available for purchase as an operating restaurant or could be changed to offer a new Owner many options for uses. This site could be a great location for an events center with a full kitchen or catering kitchen. The property could be purchased and split up to allow for multiple businesses under the same roof. The seller is leaving all existing hoods in the building and is willing to sell all of the existing kitchen equipment, furniture, and business for an additional price. The restaurant will continue to operate as normal until a sale occurs.

What Happened to the Sign?

If you want to know something, just ask on social media. A Facebook user asked Fingers, Fork, Knife & Spoon by Brian Buxton if he knew why the street sign in front of Wolf's Bar-B-Q was taken down. A little while later Wolf's Bar-B-Q actually posted what has been going on.

Wolf's Bar-B-Q - "This is the area that will be developed for dollar general. So, the sign is coming down. We’re still here serving Evansville’s favorite Bar-B-Q."

Now, I won't get into the can of worms simply mentioning a Dollar General Store opened, but let's just say that a good majority of those responding are not exactly happy about it.
