The University of Southern Indiana's Lady Eagles fell short in their bid for a GLVC title over the weekend, but did enough to punch their card to the NCAA Division II Tournament, while on the Men's side, their season officially comes to an end after failing to earn a bid.

After an upset win over Lewis, the Lady Eagles fell three points shy of winning the GLVC Tournament on Sunday, losing to Drury 65-68 after giving up a 10-point lead at halftime. But fortunately, there's still more basketball to play when the D-II Tournament opens up on Friday as the Lady Eagles will go in as the fourth seed and will face the fifth seeded Ashland in the opening round game. The last time the two teams met back on November 22nd, USI came away with a 72-64 victory.

Unfortunately for the Men, while they didn't know it at the time, their loss to Maryville at home to open the GLVC tournament was their final game of the season the selection committee decided to leave them out of this year's tournament, a scenario Coach Rodney Watson thought could be possible when we spoke to him last week.

Although their season ended sooner than they had hoped, the future looks bright for the Men's squad as Forward George Edwards, and Guards Bobo Drummond and Travis Britt will all return next year to join newly signed recruits, Alex Stein and Jacob Norman from Reitz.
