It doesn’t need to be chilly outside to enjoy a bowl of delicious chili from the University of Evansville’s Clay Club fundraiser event.

No matter what the temperature is, you can help support the club’s annual Chili Bowl Sale on Thursday, October 25th outside Hughes Hall located near the East Terrace Lawn across from Ridgway University Center.

Purchase a very unique ceramic bowl for $10 and fill it with chili. If you prefer not to eat out of your newly purchased handmade bowl, they will have paper containers available. For $15 - $50, you may want to purchase a larger bowl that will be available for sale. And, hold on!  Consider purchasing an even larger bowl that will be more artistic and sold at a silent auction between $60 - $100.

All bowls are handmade by members of the Clay Club, other students from U of E, staff, faculty, alumni, and members of the community.  Each bowl is skillfully crafted on the potter’s wheel from a ball of clay then goes through a very lengthy process according to the Clay Club’s advisor and associate professor of art, Todd A. Matteson.

Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Potter's Wheel, Inner City Mission. The Clay Club officers chose this organization for their work with educating and feeding the less fortunate in the Evansville Community. The rest of the proceeds will be used by the Clay Club to attend conferences, visit museums and galleries, and host visiting artists.

Purchase a Chili Bowl and fill it with some hearty chili made by U of E’s food service provider, Chartwells, Thursday, October 25th from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at the University of Evansville, 1800 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN.  In case of rain, the event will be held at Eykamp Hall, Room 253, and the Class of 1959 Gallery and Lounge in Ridgway University Center.
