All good things come with some bad. It's the Ying and the Yang of life. So, it is with the warm and mild Winter of 2018 2019 that we enjoyed, comes more snakes in our future. Yes, I said snakes!

According to Kentucky TV station WYMT, experts are saying that because of the warmer and wetter Winter throughout the country, we need to be extra careful next year and the year after because snakes find this type of weather perfect for breeding. Unfortunately for us, the Winter of 2018-2019 was one of the wettest and warmest on record. Even though that's the case, we still won't see an increase for a year or two, the baby snakes have to have time to grow.

Are snakes important to have around? Well, growing up in the country, my mom always taught us to respect nature and that everything had a purpose. She explained that snakes ate mice and rats to keep them out of the house. That answer made me happy and feel protected by snakes. But, I don't know about this more snakes that normal kinda talk. There IS such a thing as too much of a good thing. Too many snakes can never be good.

The only advise I can offer you, for our future massive snake population increase, is to keep you eyes to the ground. Wait! Unless there's a snake in a tree, OMG!! Just be on the lookout. YIKES!
