There is just something really appealing about big ol' trucks, whether it's some kind of emergency vehicle or an ordinary everyday work truck. They're just neat, and people just like checking them out. The folks at SMILE on Down Syndrome know this and that's why, for the 7th year in a row, they are hosting their Trucks & Heroes event.

The SMILE MILE, which just recently happened, is their biggest fundraiser of the year. TRUCKS & HEROES is nothing more than a community giveback and a way to say thanks for all the Tri-State does for SMILE on Down Syndrome.

Here's all the info you need to know...

Trucks & Heroes is Saturday, October 19th from 9am-12pm in the parking lot at Deaconess Gateway. It's absolutely free to attend - although it would be great if you could bring some kind of non-perishable food item which will be donated to Patchwork Central's food pantry. If you need to know anything else, you can hear Nikki Davis talking about it in our interview below.
