Popular Newburgh Ice Cream Shop Says Goodbye at the End of the 2023 season
Putting family first is something that I think we should all do, but sometimes work gets the best of us. One Newburgh family is taking that seriously and saying goodbye to a neighborhood favorite.
July is National Ice Cream Month, and when we asked what your local favorites were Rivertown Ice Cream in Newburgh was at the top of the list. Matt and Karly are in their ninth year of business and a lot has changed since then. Most notably, their family has grown, and baby number three is due this fall. So, they have made the difficult decision to close at the end of the 2023 season.
Here is Their Statement from Social Media:
Dear Rivertown Fans,First and foremost, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all our loyal customers. Not only for a great year so far, but the last 8 in general. We are continuously humbled by your support and unwavering commitment to our business. With that being said, we wanted to let you know this will be our last summer at Rivertown Ice Cream. With baby #3 coming in September the time has come for us to focus on our family, other businesses, and career endeavors. We did not come to this decision lightly, as we have been considering this for the past couple years. However, it’s time for us to slow down, work fewer jobs, and most importantly, watch our children grow. The future of Rivertown Ice Cream is to be determined. We will update you once a decision has been made. We encourage any of you with gift certificates to use them by the end of this season. We have loved getting to know all of you and have built some amazing relationships over the years. We hope you’ll keep us updated on your lives as we see you in the community.Per usual, we will be closing for the season towards the end of August. All the best,Matt and Karly
