Newburgh Favorite Gets New Owner

Residents and visitors of Newburgh, Indiana were concerned that their summertime favorite was closed for good. But never fear, Rivertown Ice Cream will reopen, and the new owners are excited to get to work on a few cool changes.

Adam and Mindy Wathen know about ice cream and have a passion for the Newburgh community. I think that it's so nice that another family will continue that summer fave.

Positive Changes

If you've ever stopped in Rivertown Ice Cream you always had to have cash. But when the Wathen's open for the 2024 season they will be accepting credit and debit cards.

If you can't enjoy ice cream because of the dreaded dairy, that will change this summer. Rivertown Ice Cream will offer a dairy-free option.

Yesterday was a big day. We got the keys to the shop. Now we start the work to get ready for opening day in 2024. We’re so excited to get started. No major changes are planned for the ice cream menu, but we do plan to add a non-dairy option and a few more Razzle options. We are looking at some changes to the food offering, so look for ways you can help us determine what to keep and what to change on that front coming up. We will also are happy to announce we will be accepting credit and debit cards going forward. Hope everyone has a happy new year, see you in 2024!
