Red Lobster Closes 50 Locations Including Indiana and Illinois

Toys"R"Us, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Rue 21, and Express are just a few of the retail companies that have closed in recent years. Unfortunately, that list seems to be growing every week. Now, we are adding once-popular restaurants to that list of companies that are closing or filing for bankruptcy protection.

Is This The End For Red Lobster?

Maybe people really did indulge in too many all-you-can-eat shrimp deals at Red Lobster. The big fish in the sea of restaurant chains closed 50 U.S. locations this week. According to USA Today, that number could be increasing. Their list has over 80 Red Lobster locations closed for good or temporarily closed.

Illinois: Bloomingdale and Danville
Indiana: Elkhart, and the N. Shadeland Ave Indianapolis location

Red Lobster Auctioning Off Everything

The company is auctioning off the entire contents of most of the closed locations. This online auction includes two Red Lobster locations in Indiana, one in Tennessee, and two in Illinois.

As of today, select Red Lobster locations are CLOSED. On our Restaurant Equipment marketplace, we are auctioning off 50+ locations across the country. These auctions are WINNER TAKES ALL – meaning, each winner will receive the ENTIRE contents of the Red Lobster location they bid on. Auctions are live and will end periodically on Thursday, May 16, 2024.

So, basically with all of this equipment you could start your own restaurant. Perhaps seafood?
