Pumpkin Spice Ramen Noodles Coming This Fall
We have reached the point in the year where everyone is talking about pumpkin spice. Sometimes it's good, other times...not so much.
Are you ready for the pumpkin spice craze to return? Soon, you will be seeing all kinds of pumpkin spice products on the market. Of course, you'll have the notorious Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin spice donuts, and other desserts, but there are always a few products that are announced each year that are quite questionable.
In years past, we have seen some pretty odd and unnecessary pumpkin spice products in stores. Just last year, a company created Pumpkin Spice Deodorant. In 2019, SPAM released a pumpkin spice flavor. Why? I have even seen pumpkin spice gum, while it wasn't as odd as the previous products mentioned, it still wasn't a flavor of gum that was necessary. That brings me to what might be the most unnecessary pumpkin spice product of the year. Pumpkin Spice Ramen Noodles.
You read that correctly. Pumpkin Spice Ramen Noodles...why???
Cup Noodles Pumpkin Spice is rolling out this limited edition flavor nationwide at Walmart beginning in October. The makers of Cup Noodles, Nissin, say that these noodles are "made with a special pumpkin seasoning that's the perfect blend of sweet, savory and spiced, these saucy noodles are ready with just a splash of water and four minutes in the microwave." They even suggest topping them with some whipped cream.
Pumpkin Spice was cute when it only consisted of latte's from Starbucks, but now this craze is completely out of hand. It seems that all kinds of brands want to get their hand in on pumpkin spice. That's cool and all, if it makes sense for that brand, but how far is too far? I think we finally found that answer. There's a line that you shouldn't cross, and they just did. I mean who thought this would be a good idea? Ramen Noodles should be either beef or chicken flavored. Save the pumpkin spice for desserts. What college kid is going to go to the store and buy pumpkin spice Ramen? I know I wouldn't.
Let's just go ahead and call this what it is...a bad idea. However, could it be worse? Absolutely. But, let's stop getting crazy with these pumpkin spice flavors. It's almost reached the ceiling. The day they come out with Pumpkin Spice pizza or tacos will be the day that pumpkin spice needs to end.
