UPDATE: Earl Cook was arrested this afternoon in Christian County, KY by law enforcement officials. More information will be released as it is available.

Sunday night, Owensboro police responded to a call from the 800 block of Center Street. The call was in regards to a drug complaint.

The police observed suspected drug activity between a suspect in a vehicle and multiple suspects standing in a parking lot.

When the responding officers attempted to make contact, the suspects in the parking lot fled on foot, while the other suspect refused to exit the vehicle.

Officer Kyle Mullins opened the driver's side door and made an attempt at getting the suspect to exit the vehicle, at which time the suspect took off quickly, dragging Officer Mullins who was treated at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

OPD detectives have now obtained a warrant for the arrest of 20-year-old Earl R. Cook of Crofton, Kentucky.

Owensboro police believe he may be armed and should be considered dangerous.
