Taking care of any animal is a very important job.  When you are caring for animals who have been abandoned or neglected it requires a very special person.

The Owensboro Humane Society is a non-profit no-kill shelter in Daviess County.  They are currently searching for the right person or person to help clean, bath, fed, and love the precious animals they take in.

The shelter was found in 1968 and its mission is to improve the lives of rejected, neglected, and abused animals.  In 1999 they went completely no-kill.

Located in the far west side of Owensboro they are small but mighty and run strictly on donations from the community and other organizations.

The position pays minimum wage to start and allows for raises throughout time and merit of work.

A lot of times the animals come to the shelter with trust issues.  It will take patience to help them learn how to trust and love again.

They are open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and located on W. 2nd Street if you turn into Thompson-Berry Soccer Complex.  Anyone applying must be willing to work weekends.

Wednesday, September 30, and Thursday, October 1, they will be doing the low-cost spay/neuter clinic.  Here is what you need to know';
