Over $4000 Raised For Logan’s Promise in Gibson County
Logan's Promise is on a mission to keep our roads safer, by encouraging everyone to Make Better Choices, and plan for a ride home, if you are going to drink alcohol. This message was delivered to a crowd Saturday, during Gibson County's largest festival, Golden Heritage Days.
Princeton Mayor, Brad Schmitt, read a proclamation, making September Logan’s Promise Drunk Driving Remembrance Month.
We kicked off the fundraising in a big way, by auctioning off a signed Jackie Young jersey! A very excited/nervous Mikala Martin had the final bid of $310!
Proceeds raised throughout the year, provide scholarships to local high schools and to provide safe rides home. Logan's Promise has partnered with Lyft, to provide save rides home, after you have had too much too drink.
It was very important to bring Logan's Promise to Gibson County, after two young men lost their lives to an impaired driver, last Labor Day Weekend. Labor Day Weekend is one of the holidays that Logan's Promise provided free cab rides home, in Gibson County. If this driver had made a better choice, on how to get home, these deaths could have been prevented. James Gasaway and Trevor Watt's parents now volunteer at events with Logan's Promise, helping to spread the word that no one should lose a loved one this way.
Over $4000 was raised over the weekend, and fundraising efforts are still underway. If you would like to purchase one of the shirts in memory of James and Trevor, email Tabitha: tabdevasier79@gmail.com
