If you’re looking for a fun, free, and family-friendly way to spark some curiosity this winter, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and New Tech Institute have just the thing. They’re gearing up for the 9th annual New Tech STEM Fest, and this year’s event is shaping up to be bigger, brighter, and more hands-on than ever before.

What Is New Tech STEM Fest All About

STEM Fest is one of those events that manages to be both educational and seriously fun – no lab coats required. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, but don’t let that intimidate you. This isn’t a sit-and-listen kind of experience. We’re talking interactive experiments, cool demonstrations, creative problem-solving, and plenty of “wow” moments for kids and adults.

STEM Fest will feature more than 50 FREE hands-on STEM activities, hosted by local colleges, businesses, community organizations, and even New Tech students themselves. It’s a great way to see just how much innovation and talent exists right here in the Evansville area. You never know – you might even inspire a future engineer, scientist, or tech whiz in your own family.

Special Preschool STEM Room For Young Learners

Families with younger kids will want to take note, too. Thanks to an awesome partnership with the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL), STEM Fest will once again include a Preschool STEM Room, designed especially for the littlest learners. That means age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and early problem-solving skills in a fun, welcoming environment.

Dates, Times, and Location For STEM Fest

New Tech STEM Fest is a two-day event:

  • Friday, February 20th, is reserved for more than 800 middle school students and homeschool groups.
  • Saturday, February 21st, the event is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You’ll find all the action at New Tech Institute, located at 3013 N. First Avenue in Evansville.
