See the Full Menu for Downtown Evansville’s New Pizzeria
A brand new pizzeria is set to open its doors in downtown Evansville, and by the look of the menu, it will offer a wide range of gourmet versions of the popular Italian dish.
While history shows ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks made and ate flatbreads with toppings, credit for creating the pizza we know and love today goes to the city of Naples, Italy back in the 18th century. Today, you can get practically anything you want on a pizza in any number of styles from thin crust to thick crust, New York style, Chicago style, Detroit style, and crusts that are made from ground-up cauliflower. Whatever your preference, there's a pizza out there for you from any number of restaurants.
Pangea Pizzeria Announces Opening Date and Releases Full Menu
The new Pangea Pizzeria, located at the corner of NW 2nd and Ingle Streets in downtown Evansville in the space formerly occupied by 2nd Harvest in old National Biscuit Company building, is currently operating under a "soft-opening" until Saturday, July 16th (2022) from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM each day, according to Evansville 411 News on Facebook. Their grand opening is set for Tuesday, July 19th.
Earlier this week, the owners of the restaurant, who also own and operate the popular Pangea Kitchen in the 111 South Plaza at the intersection of Green River Road and the Lloyd Expressway, released the full menu of what customers will have to choose from when they stop by to give the new location a try on their Facebook page. By the looks of it, the restaurant will put its own spin on classic pizzas and offer a few globally inspired pies you likely won't find anywhere else. In addition to pizza, Pangea will also offer homemade gelatos and sorbettos (Italian-style ice creams).

Wiseguy - Delux red sauce, sausage, charred marinated onions, mozzarella blend, finished with garlic olive oil and Sicilian oregano
Cuperoni - Delux red sauce, thick-sliced cupping pepperoni, mozzarella blend, provolone, finished with house Calabrian chili honey.
