Is Sauerkraut Strange?
Here in Southern Indiana, sauerkraut doesn't seem like a strange food. I guess that the rest of the country thinks that sauerkraut balls are weird. According to the list that 24/7 Tempo put together, sauerkraut balls are the strangest food in Indiana. Would I try kraut balls? That is a hard pass.
The Gerst Haus on Franklin Street in Evansville features Bavarian Kraut Balls on their menu. They are made with ground beef, pork, sauerkraut & seasonings mixed w/ cream cheese, rolled in bread crumbs, and then fried.
What in the World is Benedictine?
I don't even know how to pronounce Benedictine, but I'm guessing that it sounds best in a Kentucky accent. All of the food research has revealed that Benedictine is the strangest food in Kentucky. Let's dive into the ingredients of this unique dish.
