John Calipari Comes to Rick Pitino’s Defense

In the wake of a scandalous publication in which author Katina Powell details her provision of professional escorts to Louisville Cardinal basketball recruits, Cards coach Rick Pitino has what some would call an unlikely ally.

Now, I wouldn't call him that, because I believe the Rick Pitino/John Calipari "bad blood" is a little exaggerated.

But, yeah, during the Kentucky Wildcat's annual media day, Coach Calipari said that he "can't believe" Coach Pitino "would know anything about it."

He also hopes the allegations "aren't true."

Calipari hasn't yet reached out to Pitino, who denies knowledge of the activities detailed in Powell's book Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen.
