What Do T-Rexes and Spaghetti Have in Common? See The Dinosaur Musical in Owensboro to Find Out!
Theater Workshop of Owensboro Presenting a Wackadoo Dinosaur Musical
The past couple of months, I've been a part of the rag tag team of awesome actors and crew producing a brand new show right here in Owensboro. When friends have asked me what it is all about, I tell them, imagine if Mel Brooks and Spongebob told the story of WW2, but all of the characters are T-Rexes, Triceratops, and Parasaurolophuses. Say that ten times fast!
Theatre Workshop of Owensboro presents Dinosaur the Musical! Kicking off a season of laughter and fun with a really silly and heartfelt story of what happens when the sneaky T-Rex army tries to influence an impressionable young Prince Quincy into breaking the Treaty of Meat. The dinosaurs have all agreed to not eat each other, but will they continue living in peace? They do all LOVE the new culinary discovery of Spaghetti! Ever heard of it?
One of the things I've enjoyed so much about this show is the amazing cast. Some of the performers have been on stage for decades and others this is their very first time! When you come see the show, you may not even be able to tell who is a newbie or not.
Speaking of newbies, we added a tiny T-Rex army of kiddos to join in the craziness of the story. My son, Rollins, Mallory and Luke Hinson, and Reagan McDonald. They are adorable...I mean...they're FEROCIOUS!
Another great aspect of The Dinosaur Musical is that it is entertaining whether you're a kiddo or an grown up. The clever nods to history make it interesting for buffs, but the slapstick comedy and other surprises will have the young and young at heart cracking up. I bet money you'll leave singing about spaghetti or how it's important not to eat your friends! Ya know, those valuable life lessons!
Tickets are available now by visiting Theatreworkshop.org or calling the T.W.O. box office at 270-683-5333. Here is the amazing show poster with dates and show times. The only change is that the last show on September 15th is at 5:30PM instead of 2PM.
