Madisonville, KY Woman Could Be Named ‘The Greatest Baker’ in New Contest
Bake from Scratch magazine has launched a tasty search. For the fourth consecutive year, they're looking for The Greatest Baker in the U.S. and a Madisonville, Kentucky woman, like two cups of all-purpose flour, three eggs and a splash of vanilla extract, is right there in the mixing bowl!
Maggie Mills, who formerly owned Maggie's Cakes in Owensboro, is in the running for the grand prize and she needs YOUR help to win it.
Bake from Scratch magazine launched the contest Monday, November 27th at Noon and voting is currently underway. The winner- The Greatest Baker- will win be featured in the magazine and will take home $10,000!
Maggie has been baking cakes and cupcakes, expertly, for years. Her entry on the official Bake from Scratch contest page says, "My passion, heart, and soul that goes into each and everyone of my desserts as well as my love for giving other people that moment of joy!"
Maggie, who's 38-years-old, took a cake decorating class when she was 16 and worked at a bakery through high school and college. Her experience there led her to get a bachelor’s in business and open up her very own bakery! For 12 years, she owned Maggie's Cakes and More in Owensboro and recently moved that business to Madisonville. In her words, "I have now been in business for 13 years but I have been doing unique cakes and baking for 22 years."
