My 6-through-10-year-old self is salivating at the idea of a Christmas attraction that includes the words "reindeer" and "ride."

I'm the one--and I can't be the ONLY one--who's lived a number of decades and will still make sure I know when CBS plans to air Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer every holiday season. I've always said, "Nobody experiences Christmas quite like a child," so I think it's important for all of us to access our inner preadolescent when the holidays roll around. (Yes, get out there and build that snowman.)

If that means a jaunt aboard the Reindeer Ride Express, then so be it. In all honesty, I can't imagine there would be much arm-twisting involved with any age group regarding something like this. Who knows? Maybe YOU'LL get a photo op with Dusty and Taco:

Now, all you Halloween traditionalists (like myself)? You can still wrap your brain completely around Spooky Season. The Reindeer Ride Express won't begin departing from Forest Park in Noblesville IN until the middle of November.

And then it's "ALL ABOARD" the Nickel Plate Express every weekend through December 23rd. That scenery is beautiful and a perfect compliment to all the festivities INSIDE the train. Speaking of which...

The whole family will enjoy photo ops with Santa, cookies and hot chocolate, and lots of Christmas carols. Plus, while they're on board, the kids will be able to write their letters to Santa Claus and then hand them directly to him. How cool is that? Talk about cutting out the middleman. And Santa's helpers will also take part in your journey.

The Nickel Plate Reindeer Ride Express begins departing from Noblesville on the weekend of November 16th and then every subsequent weekend through December 23rd.

Have a wonderful excursion, and Merry Christmas.
