Kentucky Boy Loves Buc-ee’s so Much, he Made a List of Buc-ee’s Favorites for Kids
Like a lot of Kentuckians who travel down to Florida for Spring and Fall Breaks, we were pretty bummed to hear about the final demolition of the rocket in Huntsville, Alabama. That was always a nice pitstop to make along the journey. Luckily, there is a very special beaver with a road trip mecca to ease the pain.
My son Rollins had never been before, so I was excited to show him the most epic convenience store known to man. Just as I suspected, his mind was blown. Rollins loves a 'lil treat and browsing a shop with cool merchandise. So we put together a list of his favorite things that he thought other kids would like. Please enjoy along with his goofy faces! He's a hoot and a half.
Of course, we had to hit up the Icee machine. He's actually holding my Dr. Pepper Icee, but I shared! He chose apple juice instead.
Buc-ee's has old-fashioned rock candy in several different flavors. I think these were grape and strawberry. Nothing like giving your kid pure sugar on a road trip!
Look how adorable these Buc-ee beaver hats are!
Sausage on a stick. Rollins said it was "the biggest sausage I've ever seen!"
Any time we see a pressed penny machine, we have to make one. It's like an unwritten rule.
He got to pick out some candy, but I was pretty proud of him for also choosing vegetables and hard-boiled eggs for a snack.
Rollins said we needed to keep the party going in the car, so we needed these Party Cups and plates. They are really handy for snacking on those Buc-ee nuggets while traveling down the road!
Oh, this was a neat find. It reminded me of those Doodle Bears back in the 90s. Rollins loves art and plushies, and this is a Buc-ee Beaver you can color with the little markers. That kept him busy for a while.
This little bookworm couldn't resist looking at the books even though he is a little too old for needing board books. This one in particular though, was a huge favorite when he was little. It's called "Trains" and we had to read it to him every night multiple times including making all of the train noises!
He loved all of the funny sayings on the signs and dishtowels. Pigs are his favorite animals, so this corner was a hit. He really wanted that little piece of art, but we left it for someone else to enjoy.
Leave it to a 9-year-old boy to find cat butt magnets! So hilarious!
Had to get a Roadtrip sticker for his scrapbook!
The funniest part was when the meat folks hollered about brisket on the board for the first time. Rollins was SO confused and started cracking up. We had a fun time stretching our legs and getting some snacks to finish the trip. Buc-ee's is the best! What are your kiddos' favorite Buc-ee's finds?
